Easy New Year Home Projects

Every New Years starts out with a list of Resolutions, some that are obtainable and some that aren't. This year for many will be a year where selling their house or renovating the house will be on the top of their New Year list. I know that selling the condo that I live in is on top of the lists of things to do. Getting the condo ready for the market can be an overwhelming project to tackle, but there are easy things you can do that make a night and day difference. I want to give each of you a few things that will save you money and will be easy fix up projects.

Getting that nasty oven back to looking like brand new:

Many people see a nasty oven and decide to buy a new oven in order to make the kitchen look better. I can tell you that when I saw our oven that thought went through my head. The other thought was strong scrubbing wearing out my shoulders and using toxic chemicals. I had never used it before, but some at the office told me to try out Original Krud Kutter on the stains. I have no idea why that never crossed my mind! I sprayed some of the product on and let it sit for probably 7 minutes.

The condo I live in was built in the late 1960's and I believe the stove/oven is the original. You can imagine how much nasty grease and grime was built up. After my 7 or so minutes I opened the oven to see the grease and grime running off the surface. It didn't take any elbow grease and the smell of the product is not bad at all. Needless to say it was a quick, cheap, and easy way to get a brand new oven!

Krud Kutter is the safest and toughest all-purpose cleaning product out there. It works on the majority of surfaces and cleans without horrible toxic fumes.

Some other simple fix or upgrades around the house

-Want to do back splash in the kitchen, but don't want to have to cut tile plaster and set the tiles? I found by using in my own condo that there are simple metal back splash tiles that make life easy.
I was not about to tackle putting back splash in our kitchen but wanted a better look. We found out about the self adhesive metal tiles. All you do is peel off the backing and stick them on the wall. If you have outlets or areas that are oddly shaped you simply cut the tiles to fit the area. Doing the back splash probably took a few hours and cost us $50-$75.

-Cleaning the gutters rather then having them repainted is easier then you think. If you are like me you have had some nasty gutters that need to be cleaned and most of the time you will just get them repainted. Take a bottle of Original Krud Kutter and simply spray the product on the nasty gutters. Let the product sit for 30 seconds to a minute and then spray off the surface with a hose.
This easy fix will save you so much money. People think that getting those gutters clean is a tough task, but as you can see from the pictures is not.

I hope that these few tips have helped at least a few of you. There are many more that I have and will continue to post. Please let me know what I can do to improve this blog.
